Dr Natasha Lolena: prologue

"Good morning Doc!"

I smile as I walk out of the lift into the lobby of the bio-lab in Caprica city's reaserch zone. I nod to the secritary on duty, and swipe my card through the reader, and walk into the main lab.

There's not that many people around today, which seems weird. The lab is usually packed with people working on projects, but there's like, thirteen people in today.

Sulian, one of my coligues smiles mildly as he stands directly infront of me, trying his usual clumsy advances, and I can feel emotions rising. 'He's like this every morning I remind myself', trying to force down the urge to hurt him from my mind.

"I got something for you!" he says, and I roll my eyes, trying to hide the fact that I would rather die than let that clumsy oaf touch me. He pulls out a pad and waves it under my nose. "The report on that Ipsiria strain that's been acting weird. Thought you may be interested."

I take the pad off him, thanking him lightly, and go into my office to go over the daily reports. After about twenty minutes, I realise how dry my throat is, and go for a drink of coffee.

As usual, the coffee machine is empty, and I have to wait for ever for the new pot to fill. After pouring a cup, I go back to my office. And, as usual, I'm derailed by people wanting to show me their new pet-project, and a coffee run that should have take only five minutes has, as usual, taken nearly an hour!

Pushing open the door to my office, I flick the light on. Nothing. After a few more flicks, I give up, and walk to my desk light, cursing the mantinance people.

There's something wet on my desk as I put my hand down, and groan as I flick on the light, and look down.

Directly into the blank, lifeless eyes of Sulian!

Breathing heavily, I step back, trying not to scream or to alow my emotions to get the better of me! There's a short blade in his back, and the blood is pooling on my desk! He's dead! I can't belive that he's DEAD!

I feel a hand clamp over my face and a prick of a blade in the small of my back. There was some-one in the room the entire time! Some-one who killed my colegue!

"Don't scream, don't move, and I'll make sure it's a painless death! Answer my questions, and it'll be fast." says a voice behind me. And I can feel the anger wellign within me, my fingernails hardening and lengthening, my vision sharpen.

My name is Doctor Natasha Lolena, I'm a bio-engineer, a freak, and I'm very, VERY angry!


Ooooh, she may look nice, but Lolena can be a nasty girl when she want's to! Things are not going to be good for this guy!
